I've had to give up Firefox!
Waaahhh...all of a sudden Firefox (the latest release) won't work on my MacBook! It constantly got hung up and pages wouldn't load for a full minute or more. Mr. MG, computer god, advised me to switch to Camino, a Firefox equivalent specifically designed for the Mac, and everything is working much better now.

But I miss my add-ons, like the George Bush countdown and the extra smileys...

1. Camino is AWESOME
So much better.

Camino was written specifically for the mac, and it integrates perfectly into the mac. Firefox is crap on the mac as far as I am concerned. Winblows bloatware ported to work in its own little box on the mac...

You will like Camino.

5. I do like it so far (24 hours into it)
Considering Firefox was dropping my connection every minute or two, this is a godsend! :D

2. That's odd
The newer Firefox version works well on the Mac Book Pro.

6. It was working fine on my MacBook too, for months
It was downright odd. I had it on my old iBoob and it was fine. I had it on my new MacBook (bought in May) and it was fine there as well. I got the latest version of FF a while ago--it worked fine, no problem. Then, about a week ago, it started fritzing out, dropping my connection, so I'd have to turn AirPort off and back on CONSTANTLY. When it did stay connected, it would be "scanning" for ages, and then it would take a minute or more to load every page. Wreaked havoc with my posting on DU, which was awful!

3. Never heard of Camino,
But most of the stuff I have to do online, such as school (am doing the U of Phoenix thing) and banking will only allow me to use ME anyways. It looks to be a long time before other programs get accepted by the "status quo".

7. I hadn't heard of it either
I'm glad Mr. MG is a computer god.:D

I hear you about sites being slow to adapt. Even Firefox gets the shaft a lot of the time.

8. FF3 messed up on me also
It worked good for a little and then started hanging up and would freeze my computer for a little then it would be ok. It started pissing me off and I thought it was my computer. I downloaded the new Google one yesterday for the hell of it and it's been running fine since.

9. Wow, so glad you posted
I was worried that my version of FF was corrupted by some virus or something, even though it's less likely on a Mac. Did you ever figure out what made it hang like that? I haven't been able to find anything online about it.

I would have tried Chrome if they had a version for Mac; points off for them rolling it out without one for Mac, especially in this day and age.

There has been a few threads about it here. It's only for Windows now though.

10. When I installed the new version of Norton, Firefox became almost completely unusable
I hate Norton, hate Microsoft....what's a computer user to do?

11. Get rid of Norton for one.
Try this. It's free, works just as good, and won't make your PC life hell.

14. Would if I could--but can't
I have a MacBook. From what I understand, Chrome for Mac isn't ready yet.
