My brains are melting.
No, not an acid trip. Never touched the stuff.

Just allergies. What the hell is pollinating right now, I have no idea.

But the usual OTC stuff is not helping this time. My head has grown an extra 5 inches, and my itchy eyeballs are just about ready to pop out of their sockets.

I also suspect fever, and you know why? Cause my adorable pooch always knows I'm getting sick before I do, and he has been camped out right next to me all evening. He usually sleeps on a blanket bed next to my bed, but I'll bet he'll be up in bed snuggling with me tonight. He's just a good caretaker and buddy like that.

:)

1. "My brains are melting".
If I had a nickel for every time I said that, I would be a rich man.

But seriously, I hope you feel better soon. Allergies are a pain in the ass. :hi:

3. Actually, I remember that phrase from my older brothers, when they took me to a concert in the 70's.
One was tripping on acid. I found him holding a Kleenex to his ear and tipping his head sideways. I asked him what was the matter, and he told me his brains were melting into the Kleenex.

:eyes:

6. LOL! Yep, it was me. But I doubt he remembers it.
I even had to drive us home from Lincoln that night, and I wasn't even licensed to drive!

My other brother was fucked up too. When we got home, he kept crawling up and down the base room steps, picking up "creeple people".

And honestly, I don't find this shit funny or amusing. I think getting so fucked up you can't find your ass with both hands dumb and stupid.

7. I've never done acid...
I always wanted to, but never did.

My mental state now (with controlled major depression) is such that it would be foolish to try it.

13. Good for you. I'm glad you didn't.
And that might put me on the shit list of half of the Lounge.

But, oh Hell, I just think it's dumb.

I hope all is well with you too, my friend. :)

11. That seems a little different from allergies.
Maybe you are coming down with a cold?

9. It's the height of ragweed season
My allergist told me this week that, in my region at least, it's a record year for the crap.

10. There is always something pollinating Spring, Summer, and Fall.
Winter is the best, but if you are also allergic to mold and dust, that is a problem too.

I did the allergy tests years ago, and did the twice weekly shot thing. I am allergic to trees, weeds, grass, dust mites, mold, and even to cat and dog hair. Well crap! I'm not getting rid of my pets!

On a later test, I was additionally allergic to horse and cow hair? Even though I'm never around horses or cows??? :wtf:

Years ago, I had to take a pill before mowing the lawn, because it made me so sneezy and sick. I can't recall the name of it, but 25 mg made me practically comatose for 3 days. I got it cut down to the lowest dose, 10 mg, but it still knocked me on my ass. Now, I pay someone else to do the lawn care.

The OTC's and Tylenol must be kicking in now, cause I don't feel as miserable anymore.

:hi:

12. I'm allergic to pretty much everything
except mice and rats. Even monkeys (series!1!! RAST came back positive for that one, too)! My dog allergy is mild, which is a good thing, I can't live without dogs in my life. I get about 1 week of relief each year, right after the first frost before mold and dust kick in to high gear.

I take zyrtec (OTC AND generic now, super cheap YAY!) and singulair, and this combo works *really* well for me, the singulair really does help with my nasal symptoms that zyrtec just can't handle. I did the whole shot thing for a couple years, got out to every other week, but I just didn't get a whole lot of improvement. Benadryl, at the childrens dose, makes me completely loopy, like I've combined narcotics and booze.

:hi: Glad your meds are kicking in!

14. Try locally produced honey
Honey has anti allergenic properties.
Especially if it is honey created from the same plants that are creating your allergies.
