Finished my first week on Chantix, and am smoking less that half of
what I was smoking before! :bounce: :bounce:

I've had some nausea (one of the possible side effects), so got something for that, and make sure I eat first.

IT'S WORKING, FOLKS!!!! IT'S WORKING!!!

:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

2. Thanks, Tikki!
The bestest thing is that I'm not going through anxiety, nor have I turned into a total bitch!

7. Glad to hear the news SG!
Keep up the good work and you'll be smoke free before you know it.

BTW, you know why I like to use your initials? They remind me of one of my favorite guitars! :)

9. That is super!
Put all those saved dollahs in a piggy bank and soon you'll have enough for something that you'd like much better than stinky old butts!
My hubby 'kicked butt' with Chantix, too. It worked very well, and he was entertained by the vivid dreams.

11. I quit successfully on Chantix. I'm 3 months quit and it was never easier. I just
go for a little walk when I feel a crave. YOU CAN DO IT. Try logging onto the quitnet.com too. They have a chat room there and forums for people in the midst of quitting smoking and it is a great place to go when you have a crave. Keeps your fingers busy.

20. I am aware of the possible side effects. Both my doctor and the
pharmicist went over them with me.

So far, the only one I've experienced is nausea, and so I now take some Dramamine along with the Chantix, and no more nausea.

24. It sure does!
I used to work with addicts of other drugs, and they ALL said that quitting smoking was so much harder then even quitting herion, cocaine, prescription drugs, etc.

The tobacco companies load cigarettes up with so many additives, it makes it very difficult to quit for most people.

25. It's so nice to be a non-smoker
I quit three years ago after smoking for 20 years. Group and the patch helped me a LOT! It's nice not having to pack up your cigarettes when you hit the streets. It's nice not having people hassle you for a cigarette at the bus stop. It's nice not running out of money and having no cigarettes left.

Keep it up girl..let me tell you, it's SOOOOOOOOOOOO worth it!! Soon you will be like me. It is like when I was a kid being around adults that smoke...I don't even notice the smokers now.

The worst part about quitting smoking is the dreams you have. You are always dreaming that you are smoking and then you get mad at yourself for picking up the habit again. Then you wake up and are relieved that you really didn't light up.

I know it may sound cheesy, but this webpage helped me a lot when i quit

30. Check your household
is everyone besides you still alive?

Seriously be careful with that, I had a friend who took it and became very suicidal and it was strange because he knew it was the Chantix making him feel that way, he just didn't care about anything anymore while he took it. He took it a month and then got off of it.

Good luck Sis!

31. Enjoy your dreams....
I mean, embrace them. Some Carl Jung might might be needed to help interpret some of them, but all the dreams are good in a positive or a bizarre sort of way. Enjoy having those shackles released! Enjoy life.

34. I HAVE been having some interesting dreams of late.
They're actually more like epic films. Mostly, I wake up shaking my head, and laughing at the absurdity of them.

If I didn't know better, I'd say Federico Fellini's films were inspired by Chantix.
