This is scary. Today, at work, I pulled up DU and I was logged in...

... but I know I'd logged off, the last time I used du! The really scary part? I know I shut down my computer at work completely & restarted it (as I do every night before I leave) on Friday.

Am I being paranoid, or has this ever happened to anybody else?

Shouldn't shutting down and restarting a computer clear out cookies & log a person out?

It sort of freaked me out. Needless to say, I didn't feel comfortable posting anything from work!

p.s., I think I'll change my DU password now, too, while I'm thinking about this.

1. I believe the clearing cookies thing happens only when you go in and clear cookies

Unless you have it set to clear cookies every time you close your browser.

3. Well...

they don't give us the option to clear cookies from work... I'm sure they track every word we type. But I thought the shut down and restart helped. Maybe not. I'm really clueless about these things. :-(

11. Turning off your computer doesn't necessarily

log you off of DU. You must physically click the logout key. I've already thought I'd logged off, and the next day fire up my computer and there I am.

Hope it's just as simple as that, and nothing more sinister.

12. It used to work...

I mean, from work, if I used the "shut down and restart." I didn't have to worry about logging out of any site.

Guess I better be sure to log out now. Maybe I better not access DU from work, anymore, at all.
