Most intersting line in the story:

The mother wanted a new life but had religious qualms about divorce

7. Geez.............
Here I am thinking wife on husband violence never occurs.

We men as a class are perpetuators of violence, you know.

9. Right, as the article reads:
"No one who is objective has ever seen Jeff hit her before," Siegler said. "He loved her; he really did. He was proud she was his wife. What man wouldn't? She's beautiful."

You men are soooooo deep!

I completely believe she, as almost every woman who kills, was abused, traumatized and couldn't take it any longer.

The fact that people buy into the headline makes it all the more pathetic.

12. Exactly
Us men are all evil and are capable of violence without provocation at any moment.

We are the source of all the violence in the world.

23. Yes I am
I am an evil man who could perpetuate violence for no reason and at any time.

I should crawl on my hands and knees through broken glass and hang my head in shame for my entire gender.

Woe......

11. I found this disturbing
"He told Susan that if Susan ever left him, he would kill her and kidnap the kids," he said.

But prosecutors said the marriage was just like any other.

"No one who is objective has ever seen Jeff hit her before," Siegler said. "He loved her; he really did. He was proud she was his wife. What man wouldn't? She's beautiful."

Ah, so if a beautiful woman says her husband is beating her, she must be lying because men don't beat beautiful women? Give me a break!

I don't think there is any excuse for murder, but this prosecution argument ranks among the stupidest I've ever read. The guy sounds like a Freeper!

16. Regrettably, I live in the same county as this freak
Harris (Houston), Texas.

This story is grotesque in a world where, to paraphrase a certain DUer's handle, we are rarely shocked any more. From the article:

"Prosecutors say Wright lured her 34-year-old husband to his death, seducing him with a candlelit bedroom, stripping him naked and tying his wrists and ankles to bedposts with neckties and bathrobe sashes.

Both sides tried to explain why Wright buried her husband's body, repainted and bleached parts of their bloodstained home and waited five days before telling authorities about the death."

What's missing from that account can't actually be printed in a family newspaper. She stabbed him in the eye; she stabbed him in the mouth; she nicked his penis five times; and the reason authorities were finally called is because the family dog dug him up.

What about that sounds like self-defense to you?

19. Not necessarily "self-defense", PD -
Remember "The Burning Bed"? Continual emotional and physical abuse can lead to Spousal Abuse Syndrome, and many women who could prove the prior abuse have had charges against them dismissed or downgraded.

Because I've been there -not to the point of stabbing him 193 times - I can guarantee that there are times of irrationality. Actually, I'd have settled for 175 times.................

This probably has a lot more behind it that what we've read. Fear can do some pretty horrifying things to a mind.
