A buddy of mine has a small political discussion forum on proboards.
It is a long story how it got started, but it is pretty much conservative even though there have been a few liberals since the beginning but it has gotten more conservative lately.

Am I allowed to post the URL of the board and invite anyone that is interested in joining to do so or would that be against board rules? I am asking because I know that advertising is against the rules, but seriously, compared to this site of hundreds of thousands, this is a board of maybe a 40 regular posters.

It is a group of "friends" as it started (even though it is growing) that pretty much share a similar interest, (college football and basketball) but it is slowly growing.

Just curious. I don't want to get into trouble, but my buddy is a liberal at heart, he is just sometimes confused by conservative BS. LOL

I'd love to invite all of you to the site, but I want to make sure it would be okay (rules wise) to do so first.

1. "but it is pretty much conservative"
No thanks. I don't care to cast my pearls before swine.

You'd have to ask the admins, but I am pretty certain they would not agree to have conservative sites promoted here.

You might have better luck promoting you site at free repubic.

:)

2. That's sort of why I posted the request here.
My friend is really interested in balance. It is only conservative because a majority of the members are conservatives.

He (and I swear it isn't my site) really wants to balance it out and have actual discussion that isn't one-sided.

This was in response to a post of the McSame "congrats" video that was titled, "More Class"

I saw that the other day on the news. Very classy indeed.

Of course, anyone with half a brain could see right through it for the "Hey bitches, look at me, I'm pretending to take the high road and offer a completely fabricated congratulations to my opponent so I'll look like the better man and not the desperate throw away Bob Dole Part Deaux Bush/ass kissing sloppy 2nd that I am" message that it clearly was, but that is of course, just my opinion.

It was very heart warming. It was classy. It really played into my lib emotions that maybe he actually meant it and maybe just once we all could actually get along. ;)

Personally, I thought that was pretty good. But that's just my opinion.

5. I think you'd be well-advised to not pursue this on DU. Just my opinion, since you asked.

7. Thank you for the response. I think you may be right.
I was just trying to help out a buddy. But it's okay. I will drop it from this point forward. :)

6. maybe ask people who are interested to send you a PM
I don't see any harm in that. people talk about those other sites all the time (of course mostly as ridicule, but hey...)
