5. I can't tell you how to parent, so I'll just say this...
..it's a good thing you are her mother and she doesn't have to bear the wrath of what would have happened if I'd pulled a stunt like that. But that was before children threatened to turn their parents in for child abuse! lol

Hope you get some relief soon. Maybe you can call it into a 24-hr pharmacy by paying a extra, if you take your prescription to them. You might check into it.

7. no, its a narcotic and the doctor has to call it in every month
to make sure I don't take more than 2 or 3 a day

he called it in to our pharmacy last night

now even he is out of town until WED

what may have to happen is a trip to the ER at 100 bucks for a shot

I think I will take it out of her paycheck

12. Damn...
I have two "emergency" Norco pills left. If you lived near me I'd give you one.

They sure are sparing with that stuff, aren't they?

13. like we like making our selves sick to take the pain away
if I take more than 2 at a time, I throw up

if I don't take two, the pain doesn't go away

Thanks for the thoughts

4. just wait till the next time she wants something
this wasn't something trivial that could wait

this is essentially keeping mom function

Seriously

I shattered my navicular bone in my right foot and have had 4 major surgeries...she knows how important it is to control this pain

16. well, as her mom, I can't imagine you ever denying her something
that would ease her pain - there's a big difference between "need" and "want".

have you explained to her that you now have to spend 2+ days in pain because she couldn't be bothered to wait? I mean, really, does she have any idea how selfish she is? She's a teenager, sure, but this is pretty intense shitty behavior.

And if you wait to drive the point home until the next time she needs/wants something, it might not make an impression. You don't want her to resent you, you want her to respect you.

Anyway. This is advice coming from someone who has no kids (but two teenaged nieces!), so take it with a grain of salt. I'd be through the roof, though, if someone I depended on to ease my suffering blew me off like I didn't matter.

6. I would make her find a 24 hour pharmacy and take care of it.
I know Walgreens and RiteAid both have them.

its a narcotic

and he already called it in once. He is very strict about the amount and how long between days I can call it in

to keep me from taking too much I guess

15. Then you're just going to have to kill her.
That's really frustrating that she chose to leave you with no pain medication rather than stand in line for a few. My mom has chronic pain issues, and I can't imagine ever doing that to her, even at my teenage worst.

9. That really stinks.
I would pretty much say no to the next ten requests she makes of you. Even if it is to drive her to work/school. She can get up earlier and walk.

Not even back when I was pushing 17.

Hell, she could have come back later if the line was too long.

Has your daughter expressed any Republican political leanings?

Is it possible for you to take enough of an over-the-counter medication to reduce your pain...without giving you a toxic dose?
