There's a big spot on the sun today,
Sunspot 564 (they actually number them?) It first
appeared only a few days ago, tiny and unremarkable. Since then it has
grown wider than eight planet Earths. The active region can actually be seen without a telescope

http://spaceweather.com/

Well - let me just look out my window and see if I can see them...yes! There they ar...AAARRGH!!! MY EYES! MY EYESSSS!!!

3. There's a king on a throne with his eyes torn out
There's a blind man looking for a shadow of doubt
There's a rich man sleeping on a golden bed
There's a skeleton choking on a crust of bread.

Great song.

4. during the big fires in october, i could see two large sunspots..
looking through my sunglasses, the tinted moon-roof on my car, and the thick, heavy smoke, I happened to glance up and see a couple of sunspots. Amazing stuff.

BTW.. the aurora photos on Spaceweather.com are the best!

9. No, no, no
we need a constitutional amendment against this moral outrage. We must preserve the sacred, time-honored tradition of spot-free stars.

16. Police (with Sting as the lead singer, of course)

BTW, either the sunspots have rotated out of view or I
need a better "pinhole camera".

(Based on the picture at SpaceWeather.com, I'd need to
improve my pinhold camera quite a bit. Now where's that
convex lens... "Here CD-ROM drive, come here. This won't
hurt a bit...")
