It's not as fast and not as expensive but, in 1958, I liked the looks of this Austin-Healy 100-6 a little better. They're really not that far apart in the styling, and that Corvette is a sharp looking car. Of all Corvette body styles, I liked the older ones like that the best.

2. Not contrary at all. The Healeys are great cars!
I actually owned a '65 3000 for a summer. Loved the hood that went on for days. Loads of fun to drive, but a pain in the arse keeping those three SUs in sync. Wish I still had it though!:(
