...the movie, that is.
http://www.pithemovie.com/Great flick. Filmed in black in white, it's a full frontal depiction of a man who may be going mad.
He's a mathematician/computer geek who works from a home that has been turned into a room-sized computer mainframe. During a moment of inspiration he designs a program to predict the stock market. However, the predictions his custom built mainframe give him seem way too improbable to be accurate. His resulting moment of frustration bears fruit he only slowly begins to understand. It all leads to trouble and danger, however- his mainframe crashes (an ant crawls inside his computer and shorts the CPU out) but at the moment of the crash the screen displays a seemingly nonsensical string of numbers. Frantic, he hits the PRINT key, but the string only partially prints before his machine goes dead.
That's only the beginning of his journey...
This is a fascinating film. Start watching it and you will become totally involved in the poor man's hysterical mentality. DANGER: it depicts some of the most incredibly intense scenes of headbuster migraine headaches ever. I've had headaches, but nothing like these. I know some here have come close, and after watching this movie I realize just how lucky I am and how minor my pain really is.
I came across this YouTube clip, and present it to you now. WARNING: it's 20 minutes long. By the time it's over you'll either love the story or hate it.
I love it.
