Two bits of news
I was told today that I didn't get a job because I was "too fantastic" and they assumed I'd become bored. Huh?? That's a new one. Good thing I have an appointment for food stamps tomorrow. Looks like another job isn't going to be easy to find.

The worst news is about my mother. She has breast cancer. My parents are going to see the surgical oncologist tomorrow and schedule having a lymph node removed to see if it's spread. She is a colon cancer survivor of 15 years and is devastated and terrified over this last finding. Her sister died 45 years ago of leukemia and my father's mother died of breast cancer as well.

Please keep my mom in your thoughts. I haven't been able to talk to her. She won't pick up the phone. (I got the news in an email...

2. Big Hugs
My mother before she passed this last July, had breast cancer in 1975, and had both removed, and she survived

You can survive that terrible disease!!!

9. Oh Lizzie!
I'm so sorry to hear about your mom, but take heart. Lots of women survive breast cancer. My mom was one of them. (She passed away from something completely unrelated to cancer.)

Hugs to you, and best wishes and vibes for your mom.

there's a very high correlation between breast cancer and colon cancer.

I don't know how old your mum is, but breast cancer in post-menopausal women is usually much easier to treat/cure.

Try to hold on to that.

Much love to you!

13. She just celebrated her 73 birthday
I'm optimistic because it was caught so early and that she has many more years left to torment me and my sisters. ;)

14. my mom was diagnosed at 69
and like your mom, it was caught early. My mom's been clean for 5 years now.

It'll work that way for you too. That's what my heart tells me.

Translation: You're overqualified, and they figure you'll bolt for better wages 1st chance you get

LG, I have no idea what your time/money/work/family situation is, but you might just want to consider hopping on a car/plane/train and seeing mom. You'll have other chances to make more money (it doesn't seem that way some days, but you will). I wish her well in her upcoming fight.

19. Don't you just love how people just assume something.
You don't go to work for entertainment. You go to make money. What asses. I'm sorry honey.

Sending vibes out to you and your mom. I have faith that things will work out. My grandmother had her breast removed 2 years ago. She's doing great. She loves R!! I have to remind her that he's MY husband every time we visit because she shamelessly flirts with him. It's so freaking cute!

Hang in there.
