I have two checking accounts (you know this can't be good...)
one has all my monthly drafts, the other is for everything else (at least until I had no money...)

So on Friday morning, I bring in the cash and deposit the exact amount to cover my car/renters insurance. When I opened the account, it was a free check orders for the life of the account. I did NOT order checks. I just inquired. The teller must have changed some setting because I got a $12 transaction type change charge which promptly overdrew the account. Because of all the fees, it's now $54 overdrawn.

I was told this would be taken care of, but again, it's a battle that must be fought. I still haven't gotten my scumbag former employer to cover the $50 overdraft charge on my other account because they transmitted my direct deposit incorrectly. (dropped a digit in the account #)

So, I'm out over $100 when I can't afford to be out a single dollar.

I can't even tell you how I wish I was anywhere but here right now.

3. I swear, sometimes I feel like banks do this sh*t on purpose.
You bounce one check in 10 years and all of a sudden they're zeroing in on your account, things go wrong left and right and you're hit with every fee on the books. The cynic in me wonders if there's a 'program' designed to target those without the resources to raise a fuss.

Hang in there, lizzie.
