3. My dear Writer...
I'd be honored to have a friendly conversation with you...

Marx, huh?

For school?

I've been struggling to write a new poem and it's coming along very slowly.

Really not ready for prime time!

:hi:

11. It's about my life...
How I'm looking over it, and the people I've loved...

And about the choices I've made, and what those choices have meant to me, and how they affected me...

And like that!

Don't want to give away too much, now!

;)

12. Yeah, of course.
Writing is so fucking cathartic. If I couldn't write, I'd be insane. I would not be able to function in the world.

13. Some days I feel that way too...
But mostly, for me, it's just a personal statement about things...

Observations on what I find interesting or beautiful...

15. See that's why I've always thought you were very Zen...
because you seem so connected to the world around you, with your photography and poetry.

I hope one day to achieve that sense of peace.

17. I do feel centered most of the time...
But this is an old feeling, one that I've had most of my life...

I hope it will come to you as well...

18. Hrmmm... so this is why I decided to do my PhD...
I'm desperately seeking my Aquarian moment when I'm able to let go and feel free... I have all sorts of strange desires there.

7. I'm actually more of a Hegelian materialist than a Marxist materialist...
but otherwise, how's Mass?

9. MA is supah fine...but,
the workers' labor is being exploited by the managers, and their surplus value is being taken for granted. What's new?

You said Hegelian...NERD!!

You must've been vaccinated with a phonograph needle.

8. I don't talk a lot, but I think all the time.
And I hate it. I'd rather relax and enjoy the world.

Maybe a lobotomy is in order?

14. I'm sorry; I didn't mean for you to take that seriously
It's a Groucho Marx line, from "Duck Soup."

16. Yeah... I didn't figure that out until after the fact.
My head is fried. You're more likely going to get a straight answer from me than anything that requires interpretation.

23. Garden time. Spending time in a garden inspires thought, but more slowly,
much more contempletive, softer. At least it does for me.

19. We could talk about John Rawls, instead
Y'know, "The thin theory of the good", "The veil of ignorance"... all that stuff. He sure seems friendlier than Karl Marx..

...of course, if you were reading Groucho, I can't help you.

21. Well, my favorite kind of pie is cherry, closely folowed by my daughter's pecan.
Edited on Sun Aug-24-08 03:33 AM by MissMarple
It has bourbon in it, lots of pecans, and is really good. Sadly, I must go to bed now and am unable to chat. Good night, sweetheart.
