DU Ladies: What's your ideal height for a man?
Women seem to like taller guys, but how tall?

1. I like them right around 6'
give or take a couple of inches. So really 5'10" to 6'2". Any taller and the logisitcs start getting funky. Shorter and I might be taller than them in heels. i'm 5'5".

3. At least my height, which is 5'9"-10"ish.
I have dated men a bit shorter than me, though. I wouldn't make height a deciding factor or anything.

Which isn't really asking much since I'm 5'2". I'm not picky beyond that. Well, not picky about height anyhow.

8. Doesn't matter
I'm 5'6", and I've dated guys shorter than I am, same height, and much taller. My husband is 6'1" or 6'2" (I forget), but I would have married him no matter what height he was.

11. I like *really* tall guys. I think it's my genes....
... crying out to be counterbalanced for kids. I'm only 4'11, and barely that.

My sister, who is two inches taller than me, married a guy who was 6'5. I dated two guys who were over 6'4.

But height isn't all that important, as evidenced by the fact the man I've been with for the last 4 years is 5'9. When we hug his chin can rest on my head easily. So we probably are very well-matched height-wise.

When you see my sister and her husband from a distance, it looks like a father with a 10 year old daughter, just because of the height difference (well, that and my sister is a skinny girl and her husband is rather large.

16. My hubby is about 5'5" or 5'6"--I'm a smidgen under 5'7".
A little over 5'7" depending upon the humidity and my hair  But he has the broadest shoulders and back--and I helped him out lifting today--he can make 200+ lbs move and it was kind of um  watching him work out. So he isn't statuesque, but he's pretty impressive, in his own way. So, about 5'5" is just right for me. My tallest boyfriend when I was dating was about 6', but he was also muscular. I guess I'm more into "mass"-probably because I'm kind of curvy and have big shoulders and biceps myself, and just would feel weird with a skinny dude.

(Now, my dad is 6'3", and his side of the family is all tall people. My mom is 5' nothing. I'm taller than everybody, even my uncles, on mom's side of the family. I have never known how that genetic throw worked out--am I a kind of short tall person or a kind of tall short person? My brother is about 5'10". Apparently, I think the blend made us both "average". Is there a Mendel square type grid for height?)

29. I like a man to be close to my height or slightly taller
Because I like to hold hands on walks, and it's nice when no one has to bend arms or slouch.

And it's really nice when a man is tall enough to stand behind me and ...

But I guess that has more to do with length of leg.

Why are there so many man threads tonight?

30. I'm 5 feet-nothing, so 99% of everyone--male or female--in my life = taller than I am.
I don't think I have much of a choice, though I think dating someone freakishly taller than I am (and my dad is 6'4", and I consider him freakishly tall) would be awkward.

One of my friends is about 6', maybe taller, and he's dating a girl who's 4'10". They look absolutely hilarious together. :D

I find that taller men are more at peace with the world and themselves. And that in turn helps me relax. I've run into way too many short men w/ too much attitude.
