NJ residents: do they normally do turnpike construction on the weekends?

I'll be traveling to Long Island for a gig this weekend, and I was told that a section of the truck lanes around exit 8A northbound on the turnpike was closed, forcing all traffic into the car lanes. I've looked all over the turnpike's website, and I can only find documents that show construction during the week, not the weekends. Can anybody shed some light on this? We're trying to figure out the best time to leave for the gig.

2. It really depends on what they have to do.

Even if they have a few lanes closed you should still be ok. You will still have at least four lanes to travel in. Northbound right there is usually not that congested on saturdays.
