yay me! I got a job!!!
Edited on Sun Aug-17-08 03:16 PM by Reverend_Smitty
I just got a phone call from my supervisor at the college I was a graduate assistant at last year and she asked if I had work for the fall...to which I replied no.

Since they were never able to get a GA for this school year, they want to hire me on a part time basis (like 22 hours a week) to help cover the work load this semester. Best part about it all is that this position has the opportunity to become full time either in the spring or next fall. So I will have the inside track if that happens. Plus I get to go back to work at a familiar place with good colleagues...I start Tuesday morning...I'm stoked!

:woohoo:

on edit:
I just found out on Friday that I definitely passed my comprehensive exam so I will pass my masters program as well!

2. Thanks!
I never thought I would be so happy to go out and supervise field hockey or soccer practice at 7am in the middle of August!

6. I really need to finish my schooling.
Doing some non-full courseload semesters, while easier on me, has made the whole process a little longer than I'd like, haha.

10. I know what you are saying...
I like to tell people I've been a full time student for 3 decades...I started in 1989 (as a fresh faced 5 year old) and didn't finish up entirely until 2 weeks ago. That's a whopping 19 years! I almost don't know what to do with myself not having any classes to attend this fall

11. The College of New Jersey
a small DIII state school which is why they just can't "create" a full time position...they need to do a little budget magic and even then it's no guarantee

21. I know of it. All the best. And enjoy every moment of it.
Don't be afraid to express an opinion from time to time.

I suspect you have a lot to give, from how you have posted. Go for it, and do it with a smile.

I also suspect I couldn't stop you from that, even if I wanted to. Go there, kick butt, love your family and friends, and your dogs and cats, and keep us posted here on DU.
