My friends R.B. and E.D. got married in SF yesterday

and a group of us met up with them to celebrate last night. they brought their official city of san francisco marriage license...quite impressive :7
as happy as i am for them personally, i am also mindful that they made history yesterday...we made history.
that a simple act of joining together as an "official" couple is the cause of talk of a constitutional amendment seems utterly absurd to me.
they stood in line for ten hourse last friday just to get an appointment for monday. they were married at 9am yesterday. two women :wow: not the end of civilization as we know it :scared:, but perhaps the beginning of an much-needed evolution in consciousness.

while the rw (among others) rages about the threat my friends represent to marriage (as we know it)...we celebrate.

I've been hanging out at City Hall at various times since the wedding started -- it is TRULY a sight to see! :)

I can't remember the last time I was so proud of my City -- kudos to Newsom (god, I never thought I'd say THAT!).
