3. Some violations of the rules

just seem like poopyhead vs. poopyhead. I don't always feel the need to get a moderator involved in such things as long as it's basically harmless snarling. When it becomes extreme or when a truckload of posters pile on, that's another story.

Anything that significantly impacts the quality of posting and reading to DU, or that violates a rule designed to keep the site free of litigation (you know, like don't be threatening any public figures, -even in jest), -those are things I alert for.

I really hate bothering the mods about this. Some people say it's pointing out the right winger's hypocrisy in their own anti-gay attitudes by suggesting that right wing creep might himself/herself might be gay. But more often than not, there's a certain glee in using homosexuality as a cudgel for some around here.

I saw that kind of thing in GD: Presidential again today. And yes, I alerted on it. I thank the mods now for deleting it.

First of all, I think we're all in agreeance that baby-eating in any form is abhorrent. But I keep hearing rumors that Barack Obama eats babies. I myself don't believe it, but what if it's true? If it is, there's no way I can support him in the GE.


(EDIT to fix the subject line: It should read "Lately I most often alert when I see...". I used to alert on homophobic posts, but I got the carpool tunnel syndrome from that, so I had to stop...lol.)
