Briggs & Stratton engine is sputtering. New air filter & plug, oil's full, fresh gas. What now? 6.75 hp.

4. Does the muffler have a spark supressor screen inside it?
Over time they clog with carbon, and the engine may begin to run poorly. It's just a wire screen, but it plays an important role.

I don't know if your type of engine includes this feature- I'm more experienced with weedeaters myself. But it's worth checking.

7. I've considered sheep.
;-) Actually, I'm planning on expanding my garden and some landscaping in the next year in part to cut down on the amount of fricking grass.
