If I was really rich I would become a woods hermit.
I would buy a forest and build a little house in the middle of it. And I would adopt dozens of dogs and let them live in the woods with me, and I would grow tomatoes and diviner's sage and eggplants and live happily ever after and die. The end.

What would you do?

1. Almost the same thing.
I want to be a semi-hermit.

I have the land, just need the money.

I would go with solar and wind, and I would like several nice computers.

I would like lots of animals.

I know how to grow my own food.

Yes, this would be nice.

3. I'd do something totally different
I'd become a swamp hermit, and I'd raise chickens and goats and I'd live happily ever and die. The end.

4. I would buy out my Ex's parents' 100+ acre farm
and start an artisan cheese operation. I'd keep the goats, possibly the horses, and keep the maple syrup operation as well.

Yep.

11. Sending my resumé...
I'd like to apply for the Head Sugarmaker position or the Chief Niter Skimmer (AKA: Scummy Skimmer) position and I can even milk goats! :7

12. They have an amazing place...
100+ acres at 1600 ft above sea level, a lot of it is forest, with the maples. Goats, Norwegian Fjord horses, the sugar operation (USDA Organic certified)...Also, 5 rental properties. Tons of fields, blueberry patches, an amazing main farmhouse.

Thankfully, the Ex and I are still close. I'm going up to the farm soon with him to pick berries and play with the goats. :)

And his parents really want to get out of the business, and I want it SO bad!!!

7. similar - lots of animals, possibly near the coast, though...
I miss the ocean. But hopefully have good soil to grow food. Maybe I'd take over the stretch of land from Solvang west and south to Santa Barbara. :D

I need books, though, too. Lots and lots and lots of books.

10. really rich? I would want an old monster of a house that I could restore and retrofit
to be as green as possible, I just love old houses with high ceilings and big rooms, and verandas.
There is a house in Kentucky that belonged to an old friend's family for over 150 years; the family sold the farm and no one has lived in the house for a long time. I have many fond memories of sleepovers in that house, and I pains me to see it empty and lonely
It would be a labor of love to bring it back to life.

However since I like living here quite a bit I'd have to find one in one of the older parts of the city or an old farmhouse not too far out.

Raise chickens and grow vegetables.

Pick up and take home every stray I find. Give them a good and loving home.

Heaven on earth.
