My Frog Symphony Has Returned!
One of the first signs of a good ecosystem is the sound of frogs! Well, after three weeks of flood level waters my kids are back in rare form! They are practically rattling the windows! I LOVE IT! :-)

1. Our frogs are back, too, Shakey.
What is the name of those weird looking ones, like huge tree-frogs, that suddenly leap onto the windows and attach with their suction feet? They are loud, too.

It is been a long time since we have had this many frogs and lizards. The malathion spraying of the mid-90s devastated them for a while.

2. We've always called them Rain Frogs.
It's got to be a colloquialism though. Did you get any flooding? We had snakes in the garage and gators next to the porch. The water levels were so high, everybody was looking for dry ground! :hi:

8. I always thought rain frogs were little ones.
These were scary looking big frogs with sucker feet. We had 10 on the windows at once. That will wake you up for sure.

7. Our frogs are doing well too.

But I don’t think I have heard a bullfrog yet.
We have a toad that has lived by the front door for several years. My wife hopes he eats Fleas! It is a bad year for fleas in NW Ark. It is a constant battle to control them.

Tonight is the first night for the sound of locus. I think they are starting their summer song right now. They start out slow and quiet, then as autumn nears they get a lot faster, louder and more frantic. A hint of fall air freaks them out!
