Are there any good actors under the age of 25?
Edited on Tue Feb-24-04 01:53 PM by SEAburb
None of the younger crop of actors have impressed me with their ability to act. They seem to just be TV quality at their craft. I hope this isn't the new standard.

2. Dakota Fanning.... most memorably in I am Sam
and I don't know how old she is now but Anna Paquin was great in the movie The Piano.

You probably mean teen age - 25 though and off the top of my head I can't think of any right now.

3. "TV quality"?
You've got to stop watching "reality" shows.

4. Here are a few ideas..
Hailey (sp?) Joel Osment

Elijah Wood

Leonardo DiCaprio (if he's not past 24 yet)

There are some actresses, too...

I can't remember her name, but the little girl who in 'Taken' and 'I Am Sam'.

Lauren Ambrose of 'Six Feet Under'

6. I think Evan Rachel Wood should already have the Oscar
for her performance in Thirteen. Shoulda just closed the books and said "Okay, it's yours." Lest you forget, Anna Paquin got one years ago for "The Piano," and she is still under 25, Jena Malone is a very impressive gal waiting for a script worthy of her, all three teen leads in "American Beauty" are under 25 and amazing (Wes Bentley is surprisingly lowkey since then, though), while Thora Birch and Scarlet Johannsen both also deserve major credit for their chops. Ryan Gosling is under 25, I'm pretty sure, as is Ben Foster, lately of Six Feet Under, and they both are just waiting for breakout roles. I would even argue that the Tom Hanksian kid from "The OC" is one smart film role away from mega-stardom, as is Topher Grace, of "The 70's Show," "Traffic," and a few other things in which he always plays the Gen Y (or Z?) equivalent of a Jimmy Stewart. Want me to go on?

Bear in mind too, that Jack Nicholson, Hanks, and Bill Murray were once just "TV quality."

7. Amber Tamblyn
who plays Joan of Arcadia appears to have potential. Does a very nice job with a very interesting role. She is surrounded by a fine cast. While attractive, she does not have to rely on looks to bring attention to herself or her performance.

14. That little girl who plays Starr on OLTL
She's great-I never saw a kid as young as she is do so well on a soap. I also never saw a soap portray a young child as "The Bad Seed", either.

18. Good choice
I love her especially when they do the "South Park" like dream sequences. Camryn Grimes from Young and Restless is also a very good child sopa star, she won the Emmy a few years back.
