College Class Ring, Lost In 1961 Found Under Oak Tree
<snip>

Lemon meringue pie never tasted so sweet until James Waites, 65, discovered a long lost treasure inside one.
Well, sort of.

After eating a late night dinner of oysters bienville and steak last week, James' wife, Pat, motioned her husband to look inside a plastic bottle laying on top of his pie.

The gold class ring with its ruby red stone, a bit faded, abruptly captured Waites' attention. He lost the symbol of his college days almost 43 years ago and on Wednesday was reunited with it.

"I was so stunned. I couldn't imagine that ring being there," he said. "I'd given up on finding it years ago."

2. My ex-wife found my HS class ring once.
We were living in Germany and she pulled it out of the watch pocket in a pair of jeans I hadn't worn in years. About 10 years to be exact.

3. ...and then, overcome with emotion, Waites...
...grabbed his forearm and collapsed face-first into his pie.

Sorry, I love ironic endings. :evilgrin:

4. Reminds me of how I "lost" my HS ring
to a "B" girl in an Athens bar at age 19. I have since learned how to handle alcohol thank goodness.
