I'm extremely pissed off this morning, as * has proved once again he's more a Buchanan than a Lincoln and come out on the side of theocracy. The government should not be dependent upon religious ideals for guidance in matters of civil law. Marriage under the government should be a legal contract, and nothing more. And as it is a legal contract, it would be discriminatory to prevent two people from entering into it because of they are of the same sex. That heterosexuals are against something they have no business in anyway blows my mind; If you don't like gay marriage, don't have one. But don't dictate to the rest of society. If God does indeed hate homosexuals, then that's between God and homosexuals. What the fuck do you care anyway? You aren't going to hell, they are, right? And as far as that "detrimental to family and marriage" argument goes, when the divorce rate is 50%, you might want to start looking at other places to lay blame for the destruction of the "American family."
