my own private den of hilarity on the third floor
Picture it: my open-air cubicle on the third floor. The floor on which several major GOP players (one is the lead lawyer on BC04 campaign finance) toil for the evil current resident at 1600 Penna Ave.

Items among plain view: 3 flags (U.S., CA, rainbow), my Dean for America bumper sticker, my photo of Mrs. V., and a large copy of the picture of the first gay couple married in SF. Also in plain view is a bulletin board -- can't be missed by anyone walking by. Among the firm bulletins are Doonesbury cartoons, snipped gay marriage announcements from the Washington Post, and a bumper sticker that reads "The Federal Marriage Amendment: Yes, let's write second-class citizenship into the Constitution!" and "over my DEAD BODY."

Today, I rejoice! because one of the newer GOP players has moved office to my side of the floor. Where once he walked by my desk maybe once a week or so, now he will walk by several times a day -- that route being the shortest between his office and the elevators.

Praise Jeebus! Ha ha ha ha ha ha haaaa! :7

1. You are braver than I...but then, I work for the state.
I really don't want anything too partisan out in the open. I *do* work for a Republican appointee. :scared:

3. I could put stuff like that all over my office too
But I work from home, and my girlfriend is already on our side. And the cats don't seem to care about my collection of Boondocks cartoons.

7. maybe I need to stop posting
about how I advertise (on my moving billboard -- car -- and at my desk at work) that I demand equal civil rights. Because the responses are frequently "you rock" and "your brave" -- responses of admiration. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate it, but -- does it sound like I'm fishing?

Because I'm not fishing. This is just who I am, and I'm not doing it for praise or the like. I just tell the tales cause I figure maybe others will relate, or appreciate hearing that someone puts it in the GOP's face . . .

I don't know.
