Anyone seen my glasses? I can't find my specs

and I can't see without them.

I remember, when I was a child, and had good eyes, so I didn't understand, really, what "bad vision" meant, I assumed that if one needed glasses one could not see at all without them. So I had this question, when I was three or four years old, if you need glasses, how do you find them in the morning if you can't see? I figured they must have to put their glasses in precisely the same spot every day, or at least make sure they remembered where they put them. I thought it must be terrible to wake up in the morning and realize that one is stuck in an unenviable position of not being able to find the one thing that's necessary for you to find it. Funny how my mind grasped the mathematics of that even at age three or four.

Anyway.

Now that I'm older, nad have needed glasses for almost three decades, and my eyes keep getting worse, I'm almost to the point of not being able to see well enough to find my glasses. :-) I used to be able to read without my glasses - in fact, saw beter without the glasses - but now I can't read without the glasses.

Even typing this I am typing much slower than usual...

help me find my glasses, please?

Oh, the humanity!


(ps. - and the DMV tells me that no, I don't need to wear glasses to drive. Scared me when they told me that, since I know for a fact that I *DO*)

That's usually where they are - wash my face before going to bed, and just leave the specs on the toilet. But alas, not today.

I once found them on my face - running around the apartment for a minute or two, desperate for the glasses because I was leaving, and finally touched my face or something and realized I was already wearing them. Of course, someone else was here to see it happen and make fun of me.
