After all this talk about Edwards, I think I'll post one of my wedding pics.

Hope you'll share yours, too (wedding or not)! :hi:

I have a lavender... whatever it is
it's a forehead/eye thing. fabric-covered rectangle about 6 inches long that has lavender and something.. not sand... to make it heavy. when I have a headache, it's great to put that over my eyes to block out any light. and the lavender smells fresh and airy, not like perfume or like pain.

I've taken it with me on a long plane flight and it was nice to have b/c of the canned air in the plane.

38. two cats, no, three

this cat, above, is terrified of this cat, below. the cat below is smaller, nothing but playful, and plays all the time with my tabby cat (below-er)

I cannot figure out why the calico is so freaked out, but she is and has been ever since the maine coon was found and returned to me after a year of being missing.

oh, and I found out that maine coon cats are unique. they have a "trill" not a meow, bigger paws than reg. cats, a long bushy tail and long hair to keep them warm on cold Maine nights, and, this one, has the sweetest personality I've ever seen in a cat.

this cat has me trained to follow him and either fill his water bowl or let him outside. since the Maine Coon came back, I can't let the cats use the cat door b/c the Maine Coon ran off with the deer last summer.

43. I think the Calico opened the door
and made sure the Maine Coon got outside. The calico thought she had gotten rid of the interloper for more than a year, and then she showed up...AGAIN!

when I first adopted the Maine Coon, the calico couldn't stand to be around her. I thought it would get better but it hasn't. the calico comes into a room and looks all around first to make sure miss maine isn't around. Calico will no longer sit on my lap. She will sit on the top of the chair I'm sitting in, but only if I don't try to touch her. I'd be unhappy to live a cat life like that.

My beautiful niece Ellie. I am a terrible photographer.

Number two son in pool. Number one son is in Kentucky with Grandparents this summer.

If you really don't think you're getting the pics you want, try taking more. My father taught me, "You have to take a lot of photographs to get some good ones." :hi:

103. Puck is enjoying her new Cat Cottage:

and Oberon is wishing that they made Maine Coon sized Cat Cottages!

Poor Obie. He'll have to stuff himself in his play tunnel instead:

104. That's a great picture of Oberon!
I'd love to get a Coon Cat. Are they any more trouble than "regular" cats?

106. Only the fur is a hassle
During shedding season when they look a mess:

Otherwise they are probably easier than other cats. They are too large to jump onto very high spots, and they are generally extremely well behaved and easy to train (mine learned "high five" at an early age and uses it for nearly every request instead of meowing). They're very loyal, and just want to be nearby at all times. They do enjoy being "babied" and need extra reassurance at the vets or during thunderstorms. Maine Coons are also as gentle as can be, and can be trusted with very young children.

There are Maine Coon rescues in most states. A Google search should turn up a few near you. Or try Petfinder.com
