The Good Times are rolling in New Orleans despite the rainy weather. Beer being consumed and breakfast being cooked on grills as the morning light exposes last nights damage. Parade goers await today's free spectacular shows on St Charles and on Canal and in Metairie. The partiers are resting up from last nights decadence on Bourbon Street to give it one more shot tonight to expose body parts for beads before the Crew of Cops ends all the madness at Midnight and the weighing of the trash begins. Next year's Mardi Gras - February 8th, less than a year away.

Carnival morning in St. Louis is always depressing for me. It just isn't right to have to work today. I would be at Zulu right now if I was in NO.

3. If Zulu rolls on time!!!!!!

I'm planning a stroll down in the quarter this Friday. Trash will be (mostly) picked up, the sun will be shining, no lines for beer and I'll get to hear all the stories from my favorite bar tender at Tropical Isle (Bourbon).

Zulu never rolls on time, but they put on one hell of a show.

5. Yep, I would get off work around 8:00 a.m. and roll down St.

Charles to Zulu. Then we were back Uptown for the day parades and then back to work for the evening shift. I never, ever slept the night before Mardi Gras.

They love to tick off ol' King Rex. The King of New Orleans is fine with that though.

I cede Mardi Gras day to the tourists. Plenty of other (and beter) Mardi Gras parades to attend prior to today. Though Zulu is pretty cool.
