My opinion about WW3 is that it will not be easy to define, like we won't know it's WW3 until half the countries are fighting (or until the US is fighting half the world :P) and we can't get out of it without the whole world changing (or dying :P) and I bet no one with power will admit it's WW3 until all their people are dead or starving.
