It's sexist, I tell you.

24. That's it exactly. You have to own something to loan it to someone else.

36. I'm puzzled by all the rationalizations used to attempt to ignore this...
or otherwise explain it away as something innocuous / not meaningful.

Good question yet, can you imagine the horror of having a strange "husband" in your house. Kudos to the producers of the show for recognizing where the power lies. :P

13. Did you know...
That at the end of the season, the worker bees (female) kick the drone bees (male) out of the hive to conserve food. They then die within a day or two because the don't know how to find food for themselves.

Wow, I should be posting on that nerd-off thread...

12. Not to be technical but...
To swap one's wife does that not also necessitate some form of husband swappage? In fact in all but a few places such instances of non-husband swappage are quite illegal. Their loss IMHO, but regardless, true.

19. Propose a better label.

There is also:

Swinging: A term I find lame and unpleasant.

Polyamory: I like this term. Technically it describes something else though.

Non-monogamy: Again, I don't like. It makes the act of consensually having sex with someone other than your spouse seem improper. I'm sure to some people it is, however I don't want other people's morality imposed on what I do in the privacy of my bedroom.

Fun: It's too generic...you could say to another couple that you want them to come over for some fun and they might show up with Twister. Then you don't know if they understood what you meant or not. That's kind of awkward.

Thus I see only one option...we need to invent a new term. I feel we should take a lesson by Dan Savage and take input on who would be most offended to have their name forever associated with something they find so abhorrent. So...who would find the act of partner-switching most offensive if it were associated with their name? James Dobson? Would people actually call the swapping of partners Dobsoning?

Edit: formatting.

I hope you know that I meant I had edited the post to format it to read clearer.

It would be amusing if I did in-fact accidentally create a new term for exchanging sexual partners by editing that post.

"Hey Dick and Jane, Beth and I were just talking about it and we wanted to know if you were into formatting."

edit::rofl:

I love you. I'm one of several people here who would do anything to make you happy.

I hope at some point your pain goes away. There's a group of us at this point who all have pain of different kinds, and it would be so nice if we all could have our pain go away.

Life is not nice. :(

35. It goes away is stages, in small increments...
and lessens each day. It's one of those things you don't notice as it happens, but one day you wake up and it just doesn't hurt anymore.

I have more days like that all the time. I don't hurt all the time. In fact, I hurt somedays not at all.

Just occasionally, something sparks a twinge or a little hurt. Then it goes away again.

Thank you my friend.

Yes, I wish all the hurt would go away, for everyone, physical and otherwise, but that's not reality...

Probably more men are promoting it, so..... It is what it is.

I guess the genderless form is just "swinging."
