So they say. I think it is mostly true. I, on the other hand, have been faithfully true to my one and only for 25 years come next October. Does that make me more dog-like than most men? Or am I way off the mark?

I'd love to have a good dog like that. I got the picture off the internets. My wife doesn't want to have a dog ("tragedies waiting to happen" and all that). I love her and am faithful so I can deal with it. Maybe when we retire....

I'm very sorry. I really don't understand that kind of opinion. I haven't been without a pet in 27 years.

I've agonized when they were hurt or sick, and I've cried when they passed away, but they're worth every tear. I hope you eventually convince her of the love and value of a beloved pet.
