Does anyone know what I should do about this? I'm afraid it might be something serious like carpal tunnel.

1. well, my dr told me it is actually nerve root compression from the center of your back

my pinky and ring fingers on both hands would do that, in the night even.

Carpal tunnel hurts, so they tell me

My doc recommended deep tissue massage in the middle/upper back, the thoracic spinal area. IT helped.

Edited to add: also you may benefit from a change in position, like raising or lowering the arm rest of the chair or changing the angle of the keyboard. You should keep your keyboard as flat as possible.

If I talk on the phone (holding phone up to ear) too long my whole outer arm goes numb, sort of like when your foot goes to sleep.

Of course you should really ask your doctor or chiropractor about it. One thing though, since you are not in pain or being disabled by it, there may be a wrist/hand support that will help you out.

2. thanks for the advice!
It doesn't hurt at all, it's just very very annoying.

3. It's Cubital Tunnel Syndrome
Compression of a nerve that runs through your elbow. If you look it up on the web, you'll find exercises that help. I have it too :)
