5. Yup
It's not the free-swinging league that the AL is.

NL pitchers need to realize that the AL strike zone is a zip code.

The one-two punch of him and Papi was just fun to watch. :D

8. Wouldn't surprise me
I'd bet the egg money he won't be in LA again. We didn't pick him up for the long haul, just to get past the Snakes and into the playoffs.

9. Increases my suspicions that he was tanking while with the Sawx...
...but cripes, he's a great hitter...I used to think he was the modern Al Simmons...now I think he's the modern Jimmie Foxx...enjoy him while you've got him...

11. I'll enjoy him while he's helping us win ball games
But I'm still a bit peeved about the deal, as it gave us five outfielders when we needed a middle infielder and a starter.

12. I noticed that...
I was surprised it wasn't a larger deal since the Sox are drowning in both middle infielders (got 4(Lowrie, Cora, Lugo, Pedroia) who could start for most teams.) and starting pitchers (Too many to name and Colon coming back soon.) and the Dodgers need was obvious.

I think if it hadn't been so close to the deadline; this deal might have been massive.

13. Agreed
Might've involved 10 or 12 clubs. :)

Nah, what I expected was another deal — too late for a second trade, obviously, but some sort of waiver deal — that would send Andre Ethier someplace, and perhaps someone else, for a starter, middle infielder or both.

It's like playing poker.
