Serious but stupid question about August 6 being the anniversary of when the A-Bomb was dropped
Does August 6 refer to the day that it was in Japan when the A-bomb was dropped, or the day that it was in the US?

Doesn't the international date line cause it to never be the same day in those two countries?

2. So yesterday's A-Bomb flame fest should have been on Tuesday?
It's always a day later in Japan right?

5. I suppose to be really accurate it would depend on the time of the dropping
Japan and the U.S. are on the same calendar day for part of the 24-hour cycle, but the overlap diminishes the farther west you go. In LA, for example, right now it's noon on Thursday but it's 4 am Friday in Tokyo. However, ten hours ago it was 2 am Thursday in LA and 6 pm Thursday in Tokyo...

6. The bomb was dropped at 8:15am Hiroshima time
meaning, it was still August 5th in the US, as it would be 7:15PM the night before on the east coast in the US, and 4:15pm on the west coast in the US.
