Why is the television three times louder in the bedroom (where I am)

1. OMG don't you just hate that?

I'm no engineer, but I always guessed it was something about sound "leaking" out the back of the TV.

It was the worst when we lived in a log home with loft bedrooms. You couldn't hear shit with the TV right in front of you in the living room, but the acoustics made the sound BLAST upstairs as the sound traveled up the wall and into the bedroom. I never did understand loft bedrooms. We extended the bedrooms' floors to fill in the space (only 3 or 4 ft.) as soon as we could.

2. some kind of freak acoustic thing.

I hate that. People can barely hear it, sitting right in front of it, and other people, rooms away are yelling to turn it down.

3. You should have seen the things MrG would do to try and "fix" that

problem.

One time I came out of the bedroom and found him with hid hands cupped backwards in front of his ears. He swore he heard the tv better.
