Oscars: Who Got ROBBED In The Noms? SOUND OFF HERE!
Actually I like the noms this year better than I have the last several years...

But the bum category this year is Supporting Actress. HIGHWAY ROBBERY!! Joan Cusack was scandalously overlooked for School Of Rock. I don't CARE if that's not an "Oscar-type" movie, she was spot-on and comedy only LOOKS that easy when you're perfect.

Not only was she great but 2 noms in that category have no biz being there -- the Iranian actress in "House Of Sand And Fog" was absolutely adequate in a nothing part and was obviously nommed for being a Cool Iranian Actress.

As for Clarkson in Pieces Of April, puleeze!! I agree totally with the critic that said, "her on-screen illness was fatal in more ways than one." What a ham! Jamie Lee Curtis was better than both these two in "Freaky Friday."

As for the most overrated film of the year my K8 "Diss" award goes to....envelope please....TRIPLETTES OF BELLEVILLE. Deadly boring and pretentious. I hope Nemo gobbles it up.

Most underrated film without a doubt: A Mighty Wind. OK the director's field was full up this year (although Chris Guest is second to none IMO.) Nominate the whole cast for supporting, at LEAST!

2. Andy Serkis for RotK.
This is the same shit they pulled on TRON in 1983 when they snubbed them for the best Special effects nomination. Just because of the CG, they didn't consider either of them.

3. The Water In the Storm Scenes For Master & Commander
was CGI -- pretty amazing! Great cinematography in that one. Russell Crowe was awesome and very Brando-ish as the 1800's Brit Navy Commander.

6. Documentary: "Rolling" - no excuse at all for that film not to be
nominated. Look it up - award in that NY festival. Excellent reviews. So it's about three guys in wheelchairs - it's a viewpoint we all need to see. (ahem. announcement of bias: one of the three guys, Galen Buckwalter, is a good friend & professional colleague (disclaimer 2: no, I'm not in his weird band)).
