How the fuck did I get onto this mailing list?!
Methinks one of my smart-ass friends has played a joke on me! :eyes:

WORLDVIEWWEEKEND.COM
"Think and live like a Christian"

The Persecution of Christians at Today's University

ITEM: Students at numerous universities have told us of how they were required, as a class, to view pornographic films. This recently took place at a university in the Bible belt. The student that reported this to us did not speak out to university authorities for fear of failing the class. The homosexual film was so disturbing that the class was given bags to use in case they became physically sick. Students were told by the professor, "Be sure you don't throw up on the 'blanking' floor."

ITEM: A young woman who was the campus leader in her Christian high school came home during her first semester of college and told her parents. "I am now an atheist. I request that you do not pray for me any longer." (Myers Institute)

Before we continue with our special report, we want to remind you of a few items:

And now let's continue with our special report:

ITEM: A Summit Ministries student majoring in microbiology made a comment about intelligent design on a paper and was docked two letter grades and slammed with the following remark. (Dr. Jeff Myers has a copy of this paper) "I think you should seriously consider changing your major. It is ludicrous for you to major in biology. Pick another major where personal opinions are all that matter. I suppose my remarks will feed your martyr complex, but so be it." (Myers Institute)

ITEM: A Christian young man at a university in the Southwest wrote several "politically incorrect" editorials in his campus newspaper. He was the only student with a 4.0 GPA NOT selected for the Honors College. This makes him ineligible for scholarships he needs to continue his education. (Myers Institute)

85% of students from Christian homes deny their faith before they graduate from college.

Justin, despite being raised in a Christian home and attending church regularly became one of those 85% after his first six weeks at the university. Justin told his mother, "You can't imagine all the evidence they have to prove that everything you believe is wrong." (Myers Institute)

Worldview Weekend and You Can Stop This Trend.

Worldview Weekends are held all over the nation to equip parents and their students to answer the skeptics and critics. Worldview Weekends do make a difference. Currently, 83% of the adults and students that have attended a Worldview Weekend score as a "strong biblical worldview thinker".

Consider the following:
A Fox News poll revealed that 71% of Americans believe America is in a moral decline.
91% of students in our church youth groups do not believe in absolute moral truth. (barna.org)
Only 51% of protestant pastors have a biblical worldview (barna.org)
Every major issue facing America is a worldview issue. Christians that have a biblical worldview can take what is common to the culture and turn it into a pulpit offering answers, solutions, and leadership.
We are now living in a post-modern world that says truth is created by man versus the Christian belief that God created truth for us to discover.
Tolerance now means one must accept every individual's beliefs, values, lifestyles and truth claims. The only accepted form of intolerance is when it is directed towards Christians.
Today's students have been so indoctrinated not to judge anyone's actions or behavior according to any particular standard, that a surprising percentage will not even say that what Hitler did was wrong. Students admit that they did not agree with Hitler but they can not bring themselves to say he was wrong.
Numerous national surveys and studies have revealed that the majority of today's university professors are extreme liberals with deep animosity toward Christianity and traditional values.

Whether you are a student, parent or grandparent, what is taking place on today's university campus should be of concern to you.

We should not only equip our students to take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ but we must also teach them to contend for the faith so as to persuade others to accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.

Thousands of students are being deceived into accepting the humanist worldview that proclaims God is dead and the only goal in life is to pursue pleasure. Every day 600,000 people walk off into eternity. As my friend Mark Cahill says, "They are either alive and well or alive in hell."

Think about that statement. It should rock us to our very core. It should cause us to boldly defend our biblical worldview and to confidentially share the truth of salvation through Jesus Christ.

This week, millions will go see Mel Gibson's new movie, The Passion of The Christ but how many of those Christians can answer these crucial questions?

Why did Jesus Christ have to die?
Why was Jesus Christ the only sufficient sacrifice?
What evidence is there that Jesus was God?
What evidence is there that Jesus Christ rose from the dead?
What does it mean to repent of your sins?
Why can't a good person earn his or her way to heaven?
Why did God create man if he knew he was going to sin and rebel?
What about the person that has never heard of Jesus Christ?
Will God really allow the nice little lady down the street to go to hell?

Whether we are attempting to defend and proclaim truth on the university or high school campus, at the workplace or in our own homes and churches, Worldview Weekend is committed to helping you to think and live like a Christian.

Please visit www.worldviewweekend.com now and register for any of our spring Worldview Weekends and order quantities of brochures to distribute in your city.

5. Prank, maybe?
Some friends of mine once pranked me by phoning the 800 number in the Latter Day Saints' late night infomercial (this was like 12 years ago, I don't know if those ads even still run) and giving my name and address so missionaries would show up at my place for a nice chat. Maybe someone with a dubious sense of humor signed you up for that list?
