Poll question: Which ONE of the SAG winners will win an Oscar?
The last two years, only one of the four Screen Actors Guild winners has gone on to win an Oscar. Last year, only Catherine Zeta-Jones won both, and the year before that, it was Halle Berry.

I can't imagine anyone voting for Johnny Depp, but he's in this poll anyway.

It's tough between the other three, since they're all the favorites.

I think I'm going with Tim Robbins, since Renee is TOO much of a favorite--bound to be a let-down.

As for Charlize--well, she's a huge favorite also, but I'm going to say that the Academy is fed up young actresses showing up on the cover of every single magazine before the big night, in essence campaigning for the award non-stop. That said, they'll give it to Diane Keaton, who probably deserves it just as much as Charlize.

1. I'm voting for Charlize
I think the supporting categories are a toss-up although Robbins and Renee are the favorites. Actor, it's Penn or Murray but that's a toss up so i think Charlize will win it.

2. The supporting catergories do tend to have upsets more than the
lead ones. I just think that there will finally be a backlash against always giving it to a young woman simply because they want to see how she'll dress/look up on the podium. Think about it--that's happened the last few years.

5. That has happened the last few years
but I don't think it's b/c they want to see how they look. Those beauty gals have been playing against type in gritty, powerful roles like Halle and this year, Charlize.

7. The year Gweneth won, all you heard about was what she might wear, and
who was going to dress her, do her hair, etc. Same with Halle, and Nicole.

Enough! Give it to the old broads who can actually act!

4. Seriously, do you think he'll win?
I think he's a huge long shot. Besides, he was in a comedy, and Bill Murray was in a comedy. The Academy doesn't give it to comedies--the only thing his nomination does is keep BIll Murray from winning. I can't fathom Sean Penn not winning.

6. Sean "Radioactive" Penn
He's probably the best actor of his generation, but he is politically active and he doesn't "behave".

I'm surprised that Tim Robbins got an Actor, but he's far more mellow than Sean Penn.

10. Haven't seen it, but I hear he was great, however, you've got to
understand that oscars are usually not simply awarded on merit--lots of factors go into play--such as if people think it's a certain person's time--I think they think it's Sean Penn's time.
