4. I read several of his best books...and attempted one of his worst...
He suffered from a sad fate-an artist that out lives his prime (much like Picasso). When i started reading his later works, I got the impression that he was an imperialistic autocrat at heart and was upset that he wasn't in charge. But a Day in the Life....is a short great read and worthy of a Nobel Prize.
