that plays alternative and lesser known bands, as well as local stuff.

The Proclaimers. Still playing small venues (some large ones too, though), and relatively unknown in the states, except for one or two singles made popular by Hollywood.

6. Artists like Bonnie McKee, Susan Cagle, and Leslie Mills
Very accomplished artists who should appeal to many based on their sound. I lean towards pop/rock and singer songwriter for my taste in music.

Bands which deserve critical or commercial success typically act like they don't want it... so they don't get it.
