Mainstream films in which the "C-word" appears
By "mainstream," I'm talking about non-porn theatrical films, preferably released in the US.

The Silence of the Lambs
Trainspotting
Avenging Angel

Others?

1. "One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest"

"Shaun Of The Dead" (common British slang, usually applied to other men...noy uncommon in Commonwealth films)

"The Libertine" (the 2nd Earl of Rochester's poetry was replete with the word as anatomical reference)

2. "Serial" - 1980
And not only was the word said, Tuesday Weld was the one who said it. :wow:

6. HBO's Deadwood featured it pretty prominently.
Not as often as "cocksucker" but still fairly often.

11. Not really a theatrical release, though
I hear it's quite a fine series despite it's shocking disregard for delicate public sensibilities.

8. Not really mainstream, but
"Born Into Brothels" had that word quite often. It was many of the mothers who used the words when yelling at their daughters.

9. "Closer" I think...
"Welcome to the Dollhouse" (don't know if it's "mainstream" but I actually thought the dialogue in that movie was artful...the almost innocent discovery and experimentation of taboo by kids coming of age awkwardly)

19. Al Pacino (Roma) tossed it at Kevin Spacey (Williamson)
"You stupid fucking cunt. You, Williamson, I'm talking to you, shithead. You just cost me $6,000. Six thousand dollars, and one Cadillac. That's right. What are you going to do about it? What are you going to do about it, asshole? You're fucking shit. Where did you learn your trade, you stupid fucking cunt, you idiot? Who ever told you that you could work with men? Oh, I'm gonna have your job, shithead."

I copy-pasted this from IMDB and declined to edit the c-word. Besides, after attending the Vagina Monologues and chanting that word along with a room full of people, I'm no longer as offended by it.

13. Harry and Tonto
It's been decades since I saw that movie but IIRC this exchange from IMDB is inaccurate:

Shirley: I like you, Norman.
Norman: I like you, too, Aunt Shirley. But I think you're a bitch.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0071598/quotes

Ellen Burstyn played Shirley and Josh Mostel was Norman.

30. One of my favorite films.
More people should watch it, it's a great one. Kingsley is awesome, as always. And the scene where they're all out eating dinner and they get news that Kingsley's character is coming. Kingsley isn't even there yet and you could feel the dread that comes over all of them. Great acting.

29. Snatch has the best use of it that I've heard.
"Do you know what "nemesis" means?"

Sexy Beast has a great line to, when Ben Kingsley gets out of a taxi and says, "Got to change my shirt, I'm sweating like a c*nt."
