4. Come On People - Post a Birthday Greeting

Some things continue to amaze me - like how a sincere yet simple request is blown off by so many here!!!! Silly, nonsensical topics have a multitude of posts on them but only one person can post MILESTONE birthday greetings to a guy who has added a lot of insightful and beneficial conversation to this forum over the years. I can't tell you all how very disappointed I am by this!!!
Is everyone so self-absorbed that you can't take 15 seconds out of your, obviously, not-too-busy lives to say "Happy Birthday" to someone who has reached a milestone this year!?

5. I appreciate your birthday wishes, steelemagnolia but I have probably stayed here too long

Even though I have been posting since 2001, because of the demands of my real life, I have never built up the huge post counts or become really close to a lot of the other people here. I have always tried to be a positive part of this community, share some of the interesting things that I have found in my half-century on the planet, and provide support and encouragement to others in their time of need. However, it looks like my presence and participation on this board has outlived its usefulness and I should probably find another place to spend my time. I really appreciate your comments and best wishes on this important day in my life. People like you are the reason I joined this community in the first place. Take care,Irk.
