WHY DOES MY CURSOR MOVE ALL OVER THE PLACE?
I can't stand it. This is a new computer and I think I am going to take the fucking thing back. I have 14 days. It moves and I end up writing over stuff I have written and sometimes I delete things without meaning to. :argh:

2. Just tell the computer to stop cursing so much.
We used to have that problem with Holly. Until we reminded her of Space Corps Directive #8675309 which clearly mandates that computers use professional manners of communication at all times.

3. Is this a laptop computer?
laptops often interpret a bump of the touch pad as a command to move the cursor to wherever the arrow might be at the time.

4. Make sure "snap to" is unchecked in Pointer Options
Edited on Sun Aug-03-08 06:56 AM by Breeze54
Check your mouse options under

Start -> Control Panel -> Mouse -> Pointer Options -> Snap To,

and ensure that the snap to box is unchecked.

After that, update any mouse drivers you might have, and if it's a wireless mouse,
replace batteries and make sure that the distance between the mouse and it's receptor
isn't too great or obscured heavily.

Also might try a smooth mouse pad

15. Thanks. It was unchecked but I slowed the cursor speed down. Maybe
that will help the little sucker from running all over the place.

5. if there's a touchpad, you gotta make sure it's set to not move while typing
under mouse or touchpad options. :banghead:

6. My laptop mouse does that sometimes...
I just unplug it and plug it back in.
So far this has worked every time.

16. PC
But slowing the cursor speed down seems to have helped a lot. Any information is greatly appreciated though.

8. Both our Dell laptops with Vista do this. I solved my problem by adding
a Microsoft keyboard and Logitech wireless mouse. I don't travel with my laptop very often--but when I do the bouncing cursor drives me nuts.

If you figure out how to fix it, please post!

11. Have you updated the mouse driver with the Logitech driver and NOT the MS driver?

Make sure you delete any 2nd mouse divers installed in the Device manager too.

If you're using USB, I do not believe you need the Ps2
