1. Not without bolting it to the wall.

2. Swing over to your local thrift shop and check out some old dressers.
They may be exactly what you're looking for.

5. I had...
All of them were wobbly, half the depth I needed (8"L instead of at least 16") or made out of too poor material to hold 35LBs. :(

3. I wouldn't

they're not made to be stacked like that, that'd be a tall object with a narrow base. (33" + 33" + the height of your TV = a high chance of tippage.)

Honestly, at that cost ($80*2=$160) you could have a simple TV stand (solidly put together. Simple, unadorned and probably unfinished) unit made by a professional to meet your 46" specs. Then you just have to slap some hardware you like and a coat of the finish of your choice on it. (or not. You'd probably want to though...at that price you're looking at pine. Pine bleeds sap as it dries.)

4. How about this:

24H, 20L, 50W (40LB, can hold up to 95LB)

plus

30H, 17L, 40W (30LB)

plus
32" diag LCD (30LB)

(the bottom, longer piece is not quite what's pictured; it has two extra feet in the middle to stabilize it and to prevent bowing -- the top piece, which I currently have, has a totally flat base -- not those 3 dimples you can see on the included pic. It's very stable as it is.))

7. Thx...
:)

My tv weighs 32LB, its current stand 40LB, plus a 21LB receiver. 93LB net weight, that falls under the 110LB max it said in the docs (as I recall).

Plus, I've seen similar sized stands claim to hold 200LB sets or less (are meant for 60" plasma sets), and without any middle legs for weight distribution either, so as long as I don't forget weight distribution I will be ok.

Thx!! :)
