What little things does your SO do to show his/her love?
My most recent example: the boy is going to drive about 500 miles roundtrip with me this weekend to a barn I've become obsessed with photographing.

I think that's a serious act of love. :7

1. he buys me gift cards to the bookstore and my favorite coffee place.
he is not a reader of books but he will actually go to the bookstore and buy me a card, sometimes he'll even pick me up a book he thinks i'll enjoy.

That to me is like the best thing ever.

2. It would take me pages but...
get up every day at 4:30 without complaining for work.
rubbing my neck while I was driving.
He bought me a bouquet of flowers (carnations) only once because he knew I didn't like flowers.
On just a normal day he came home with a diamond pendant, just because.
We weren't into "Hallmark" holidays, he did little things on normal days just to see my face.
He used to stop me midsentence with a kiss and a wink. I have to stop now or it's going to be a bad night.

13. aawww--rubs your ears?
That's sweet.

It's the little putting-up-with things that make me stop and go "he MUST love me."

10. Even he agreed it was a great photo-op.
After I almost climbed out of a moving car to get a better look, he goes "I guess we're coming back here, huh?" All by itself against low rolling hills, and painted so that it looks like a Rothko painting turned on its side. I'm really not that into barns, but this is a great barn.

Fortunately, he loves driving around the little forgotten highways out here, so it'll be an all-day outing (with me yelling "stop!" every other mile, of course). The just-inland parts of California between Santa Barbara and Monterey have some astonishingly beautiful scenery.

7. She smiles at me.
She takes care of me, makes me feel safe and loved. She does my laundry and cleans the house. She is extraordinarily patient and generous.

Oh, you said little things. :)
She goes for bike rides with me when she'd rather go for a walk. :)

11. She smells my laundry as she goes around the house picking up my clothes.
She let's me taste the food and critique it as she cooks; sometimes she starts over if I don't like it.

She lets me walk into the kitchen or bathroom while she cleans the floors.

She hangs my clean clothes up for me.

She lets me stay in bed if our daughter is sick or wakes in the middle of the night.

I come running to give her kisses at 6:26.
Those are our birthdays, btw... and we've been doing this for years.

We do a thousand little things every day that say 'i love you' better than the words ever could.

21. SO much.
As official househusband right now, he keeps the laundry and dishes caught up while I'm working.

He spoons me at night when we go to bed, and in the morning before we get up.

Makes us coffee every morning.

Tells me he loves me constantly.

Loves my cooking. Yay me!

And the most important...when I fall asleep reading (as i do so many nights), he takes me glasses off, puts my book away, and tucks me in. That is how I feel safe and secure every night.

My reprehensor is the best. :loveya:

28. Oh god. More than I could remember on the spot, but
some examples:

She's willing to put up with me being on the computer for 12+ hours at a time sometimes, when the pain is bad and I'm using it as a distraction.

She never leaves a room without asking me if there's anything I need, or anything she can get for me.

She kisses me at 6:26 every day, since 6/26 is my birthday. (I return with 8:26 for her.)

She stops in the middle of doing things to tell me how beautiful I look right then--the light catching my hair at a certain angle, my eyes being particularly bright that day, just anything.

We say "I love you" (and mean it) thirty-odd times a day or more. After nine years of living together.

She knows me well enough to navigate my temperament like a champ, with no resentment or obsession about who's "right" or what's "fair."

When my tender heart compels me to give away our last twenty bucks to some needy person on a street corner, she never tries to talk me out of it. She shares my values and priorities, and never complains when I don't put *our* family first and foremost every time. My ex-husband once berated me for two HOURS about giving away ten bucks to a hungry beggar, even though he and I together were making about a thousand dollars a week then. ThinkBlue1966 and I barely make $150 a week now, but she's behind me 100%. God I love her.

She communicates with me about EVERYTHING. I don't have to guess what she's thinking, or what she's upset about. She tells me, without hyperbole, and then we talk it over. When she's being moody (or I am) due to hormones, she recognizes it without sounding accusatory or defensive, and we get through it. We can talk about anything in the world. We are not jealous of each other.

She thinks I am the most beautiful, talented, intelligent, and fascinating person that she's ever met, and she tells me so every day. She genuinely feels lucky to be with me. That attitude healed enormous, gaping wounds in my self-esteem that had been around since my school days.

She's just amazing. Everyone should be so lucky to have someone like her.
