Who are your parents supporting?
My mom is still a Dean supporter and is planning on voting for him even though he's no longer in the race. My dad is an Edwards supporter. I'm a Kucinich supporter, but I'm just glad that they aren't supporting Bush.

5. Mine are dead. Liked Roosevelt, though.
Maybe I am the same age (or older) than your parents. So challenge them. Ask them if they have ever seen anything like the Bush Administration (they probably remember Nixon). Then ask them to vote for the Dem candidate to get Bush the hell out of there. Please. Tell them I asked them as a fellow Boomer, respectfully.

8. My dad is undecided for the IL primary
(He may not even vote in it because he's still, technically, a registered Republican -- he registered to vote for a family friend in 1972 but hasn't voted Republican since -- and he's not sure if he can switch in time.)

My mom doesn't like to discuss her vote. She thinks even one's party affiliation should be a closely guarded secret.

That said, they both hate Shrub and are ABB for the general.

(and thanks, Padraig, too. Hope you're recovering nicely. :hi:)

I haven't lived in IL since I've been old enough to vote. But I'll let my dad know.

My dad, if he were living, would most likely have been a Wes Clark supporter, I'd venture to guess.

13. I pushed Clark
I live in Okla. and had my mom and sis convinced to vote Clark. Turns out they voted Kerry at the last minute, and will definitely be supporting him in the GE. Good for them. They're smart people. I'll be doing the same.

Why the last minute change? Said they heard Kerry speaking about something or other, and that did it.

18. I have more good Kerry news
My aunt, who calls herself an Independent but voted for Bush and usually votes for the Republicans because she thinks they support her super-Catholic views, is supporting Kerry this time.

19. I think Mom..
will be voting Dem this fall. She's hard to read sometimes, although she does offer a brief Bush-bash once in a while. That, and she's predicted that he won't win this year.

She was a Clinton fan. She was also a Reagan fan.

Dad's wavering. I've soiled the Bush name for him, so I seriously doubt he'll be going Bush. He might not vote again, just like in 2000. But I'll be talking-up whomever our nominee is.

They're Louisiana voters. Good swing state.

21. Parents are both Dems
and passed it along to their children. I'm not real sure who they support now, but it is virtually guaranteed they will vote for the Democratic nominee in November. Mother in law has never been real politically active, but absolutely despises bush, and says shes going to vote ABB in November.
