KK Null, Cock ESP, Cheer-Accident, Albert Ayler, Scraping Teeth, Mahogany Brain, Due Process.....

In other words, YES! I love expirimental/noise rock. And power-pop. And free jazz. And classic rock. And reggae. And soul.....

Oh, and prog too. My ideal band would sound like The Hollies with Charles Gayle on sax, Chris Squire on bass, Big Youth toasting on top, Robert Pollard writing the tunes and harmonizing with John Lennon, with the Ikettes backing them up, and Keiji Haino on guitar. Doing AC/DC covers, sometimes.

2. Yeppers...
... free jazz is indeed the most wonderful of noises. I think you need super-sensitive ears to appreciate it though...

I'm a big fan of Coltrane's later period stuff. It is perhaps not 'free' enough for most people's tastes, but it's rather too chaotic for the average listener.

3. I've been listening to King Crimson constantly
the past couple of weeks, so I guess that's a YES.

Thanks for the names of other bands.

4. Or, as Christgau called it, "skronk."
And as Lester Bangs called it, "horrible noise."

"Metal Machine Music" is the greatest album ever.

Okay, it's not, but I do listen to it for pleasure.

And I LOVE Yoko Ono.
