it finally occured to me-i need a friend.

I'm inebrieted again,so pardon the spelling errors.How do you make friends in a conservative area?DU is the only folks I trust to tell me straight.I hate being lonely/alone with my ideas.I love my kids/lover...but it's not the same.What to do?

1. I don't know where you are but my family in Houston are not conservative

and neither are many of their neighbors. Perhaps start a meetup for Dems or liberal independents? Or advertise a meeting on craigslist?

I have no friends.

I just...until recently...haven't "needed" what friends give. Chatter. Support. Parties. I am very self sufficient and emotionally distant.

But now I am concerned that I won't have people to "reflect back" with when I get older.

I'm in the Dallas Ft. Worth area... so I might understand some of what you're going through.

We really do need to have a meet-up, around here, soon. It's long overdue. I've been thinking more about this subject since Khashka's death. Life is short.
