I believe the gold was a little too hot causing tiny bubbles to form on the mold. The usual cause of the tiny bead like forms is little air bubbles which adhere to the wax model while pouring the investment (kind of like plaster for casting) in to the flask.

This was probably not the cause here do to the cluster of tiny beads at the base of the sprue (channel for metal to reach the model). If the casting metal is too hot, it causes mini "explosions" and the resulting craters to form on the model. The casting is good, but will take a little more work before I can give it to my dentist to install.

7. Hi CP!

I have broken this cap twice before so instead of the ceramic type I wanted the gold. More durable less likely to break. Since I do castings anyway, I figured I could save a couple of bucks and do it myself.
