look what I made this past weekend

It's my sister's and my birthday coming up, so I made her favorite pie for her: peach

(yeah, that's a blueberry pie next to it)

8. it's mine too
So we both got our birthday pie.

I think it was a little shy on the sugar. It was certainly edible, but I would have liked it a tad sweeter.

6. I don't bake very often
that's the irony. My best cooking is done on top of the stove.

The best thing about pie is that you can throw some fruit between 2 pie crusts and..... voila! It's something yummy.

10. I really don't have one
Edited on Tue Jul-29-08 07:59 AM by MissMillie
I confess to using store-bought crust.

I cut up 7 or 8 good-sized peaches, coated them w/ corn starch, and then added sugar and a touch of cinamon

After it's assembled, I brushed it w/ egg wash and sprinkled a mix of sugar and cinamon on top.

Then it's 15 minutes in a 415 degree oven, and then you turn the temp down to 300 and bake for 45 more minutes.

13. Fresh peach pie is wonderful.
I miss making pies. MrG's favorite was strawberry rhubarb with a butter crust.
